Inscribed by the Artist “To E.A. Cutler F.D. Blake 1942”. From a collection of pictures

put together at the London Sketch Club between 1940 and 1956

Frederick Donald Blake was a painter and etcher and industrial designer. He was born on 7th June 1908 and studied at the Camberwell School of Art and Crafts, at Goldsmiths and at the Brixton School of Building. He was a Member and President of the London Sketch Club and exhibited his work at the Royal Academy, the Royal Institute,  Royal Society of British Artists and the Royal Institute of Oil Painters.  He was elected Member of the Royal Institute in 1952 and was also a Member of the New English Art Club. He lived in London.
