Endre Boszin, painter and sculptor, was born in Pilis, Hungary in 1923. He studied at the Academy of Arts in Budapest. From 1945 to 46 he
worked in Csongrad, Hungary and from 1946 he lived in
Budapest. In
1956 he moved to Scotland and later to London. In 1966 he went to Canada and settled there in Toronto where he studied at the
Toronto Ecole d’Independants. He also
studied at the Royal Academy of Arts. In
1961 he founded the Taurus Group and from 1971 to 1973 he was President of the
Sculpture Society of Canada. He had
solo exhibitions in Csongrad, Budapest; Glasgow; London; Edinburgh; British Columbia; Toronto; Uniontown (USA) and Richmond Hill (California) and has exhibited in
mixed shows in Budapest, Stockholm, Edinburgh, Paris, London, Toronto, Madrid, Ottawa, Prague and Cologne. Work by Endre Boszin is in the public
collections of the British Museum; the Municipal Art Gallery, Budapest; the Hungarian National Museum, Budapest; Pennsylvania State University; Fayette Campus, Uniontown, Pennsylvania; the Sculpture Society of
Canada, Toronto and Vasarely Museum, Budapest.
