Edith Brearey Dawson was a landscape figure and flower painter, also working in metal and enamel, who lived in Scarborough.  Her work was exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Royal Society of British Artists, the Royal Institute of  Painters in Watercolours, the New English Art Club, Leicester Gallery, Walker Art Gallery Liverpool, Baillie Gallery and the International Society.  From 1895 she made metal and enamel work with her husband, the painter and etcher, Nelson Dawson, which they studied under Alexander Fisher.  They exhibited caskets, bronze figures, medallions and enamel work together at the Royal Academy.
