Margaret Sterling Dobson was a Painter, Etcher and Authoress. She was born at Galashiels and studied at Queen Street School, Edinburgh and the Edinburgh College of Art. She lived in London at 23 Kildare Gardens, W.2, and exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Royal Scottish Academy, the Royal Society of Painter Etchers and Engravers, the Royal West of England Academy, Abbey Gallery, the International Society and the Royal Institute.  She was elected Associate Member of the Royal Society of Painter Etchers and Engravers in 1917. Her work has been purchased by the National Gallery of Adelaide, Australia and has also been reproduced by Messrs. Moorepark, New York and Messrs. Deighton & Sons Ltd., London.
